- Demand Cable Channel Choice. Cable rates have increased at almost three times the rate of inflation and most of us have a choice of only one cable provider. Consumers' Union is a leading advocate in the push for serious consideration of "a la carte cable." Learn about the issue and get involved!
- Fight cable rate hikes. Is your cable bill too high? Cable TV prices keep going up, hitting low-income and senior-citizen customers the hardest. Learn about the issue and join the Center for Digital Democracy's campaign to fight back.
- Make sure digital broadcasters serve the public. As TV broadcasters go digital, they'll be able to deliver much more programming, data and interactive content. If you want to be sure those who profit from the use of public airwaves serve our communities with the diverse, meaningful, relevant content that we want, and that democracy requires, you can do something about it. Learn about the issue and get involved with the "Public Interest, Public Airwaves Coalition" — involving more than 25 national groups -- provides a Grassroots Toolkit and educational materials to help you get involved locally and nationally to help set public interest obligations for digital broadcasters.
- Untangle money, politics and TV. In the 2004 presidential election cycle $600 million was spent on TV and radio political advertising, driving up the need for candidate fundraising. Encourage the media to cover elections and campaign issues by checking out Our Democracy, Our Airwaves Coalition.
